Pre-Diwali Hair Spa at Home: Oil, Mask and Wash

A salon hair spa is lovely but not essential. This home version uses simple steps and takes about two hours.
Step 1: Oil massage (20 minutes)
Warm Amla & Bhringraj Hair Oil and massage the scalp.
Step 2: Herbal mask (30 minutes)
Mix Hibiscus and Amla powder with curd. Apply to the lengths.
Step 3: Wash
Rinse well and shampoo with Amla, Reetha & Shikakai Shampoo.
Step 4: Finish
Air-dry, then a drop of serum on the ends. More powder recipes in our powders guide.
What a spa really does
A hair spa combines oil massage, a conditioning mask and a gentle wash. At home you can do all three without special tools. The warm massage also feels relaxing.
- Warm the oil slightly.
- Cover hair with a warm towel for 15 minutes.
- Apply the mask evenly.
- Rinse thoroughly.
Make it a ritual
Put on music, take your time and enjoy it. It is as much a break as a treatment.
